Tabletopper is a webshop for wargaming products such as Flames of War, Bolt Action, and WW3: Team Yankee.
From the very start, Tabletopper has been led by people with a genuine passion for wargaming and history. That’s why we want nothing more than to share this amazing hobby and keep it affordable for everyone.
We do this practically, for example, we reuse collected packaging materials, and we focus on efficiency and transparency.
We also believe in transparency toward our customers. Keeping people informed about our products and the status of their orders is very important to us. That’s why this webshop still exists today to share history with everyone.
The Big Boss
I’m Alex Tas. I’ve lived in Gellicum my whole life and have been the owner of Tabletopper since May 6, 2025, when I took over from Danny van der Rol. I studied Transport & Logistics Management at MBO level 4 and am currently enrolled in a part-time HBO bachelor’s in Commercial Economics.
Taking over Tabletopper was quite an event at home, since I already ran a webshop called Tasmodelshop and still live with my parents (I’m 23, and buying a house is hard enough in the Netherlands). Fortunately, my parents agreed not only to give up part of the garage for Tasmodelshop but also a section of the basement for Tabletopper.
My passion for wargaming didn’t come from home. It’s something I discovered and grew to love as I entered the world of model building. My passion for history, however, has been with me since childhood ranging from prehistory to modern times. My brother, our cousin, and I regularly plan trips abroad to visit museums, monuments, and other historical sites.
This passion is the main reason I decided to take over Tabletopper. I believe it’s a fantastic way to learn more about history, make it tangible, and share it with others.
The Rest of the Team
At Tabletopper, I’m never alone. Behind the scenes, a tight‐knit network of family and friends supports me. Their enthusiasm and dedication make all the difference and allow me to focus entirely on expanding our range of military model kits.
Danny van der Rol is still involved behind the scenes and loves to brainstorm about the webshop. He’s always ready to advise me and share his expertise.
Marthijn Tas, my brother, was already a key support for Tasmodelshop and now for Tabletopper. He’s always on hand to help during Open Warehouse events or trade shows.
Stefan van Loon, my cousin, is a fixture at every booth and never hesitates when I ask him to join.
I’m incredibly grateful to Danny, Marthijn, and Stefan. Without their commitment, knowledge, and enthusiasm, Tasmodelshop would never have reached its current level.
