The 2 pdr made way for the 6 pdr anti-tank gun in 1943. This gun was even more powerful and easily saw to any Japanese tank that may be encountered in Burma. It was also armed with a high-explosive round and could be used on infantry, guns and light fortifications. However, it was bulky and needed to be towed into positions, but was light enough that this could be done with a Jeep rather than a bulky truck or Loyd carrier.
