Deutsch closed his hatch as they arrived at the edge of the wood overlooking village being held by the 1st Company and spoke on the company channel. “All units – execute option Delta… now! – schnell, schnell, schnell!!!” As one, each zug swung left and advanced past the village. The Leopard 2s targeted enemy tanks, firing their 120mm guns on the move. Keeping pace, the Marder 2s started ripping into the BMPs with their 35mm cannons.

Soviet vehicles brewed up and soldiers spilled out trying to find cover from the unexpected fire on their right flank...
