Railway networks were essential for the swift movement of freight, armaments and troops throughout Europe during World War Two. As such they were a focal point for bombing and sabotage attempts, as well as more conventional warfare as both sides would contest important rail lines.

Switching Towers provide workers with an elevated position to look over the entire yard and control the switching of the wagons. Troops trade the management of wagons for controling the battlefield and organising their attacks or defence.
